Abstract:River source regions in southwest China are important reserve of water resources and water energy resources in China. The National Natural Science Foundation set up the “Major research plan on runoff change and adaptive utilization of river source regions in Southwest China” for improving the lack of basic data in this area. In order to play the continuation role of this major research program, it is urgent to develop a data management and sharing platform for the river source regions of the southwest China. From the perspective of data management and sharing, the functional needs including multi-source heterogeneous data integration, data quality assurance, data whole process management, data sharing, thematic data display are combed out. The platform framework of “data storage-application support-business logic-application view” is proposed to realize the consistent storage of multisource heterogeneous data, the whole process management of data upload, review-data evaluation, and the 2D and 3D integration visualization of thematic data of the river source regions of the southwest China. Taking data quality as the main line, the dual quality control process of “standard metadata system + data review” is put forward. Considering the complicated data types and increasing data volume, the future direction and thinking of data platform improvement are discussed. The above research will lay a solid foundation for the development of data management and sharing platform of the river source regions of the southwest China.
